All libraries need to get more input from their patrons. A true director listens to everyone & ask opinions. The public is what makes or breaks a library. If you have a library stuck in the 1950's with the "shhhhhhhhhhhhhh" stage you are in trouble. The library and staff should listen to everyone. Keep up with what your patron wants. Old books of no interest need to go... Clean up your stacks and get interesting.
Libraries can be the portal to the community.
